|| THE AIM OF UPASANA ||

" Know the Self to be the master of the chariot and the body to be the chariot . Understand the intellect to be the charioteer and the mind to be the reins of the chariot . "

( Kath Upanishad 1.3.3 ) .

Where is this individual self to go , having seated oneself in the chariot of the body , driven by the horses of senses with the reins of the mind and having the intellect as its coachdriver ?

" To the exalted position of Lordship . "

The goal is Divinity . Nothing will be gained without the realisation of Self .

The vision that does not see Reality is responsible for human pain and miseries . Do you really entertain the worldly affections and attachments willingly and fondly in your mind ?

If so , Rama warns you , dear one , not to nourish such a poisonous cobra in your arms by feeding it with milk .

Do you really nourish the idea other than that of Real Self in your heart ? If so , why should you not shoot a bullet in your heart ?

How long are you to halt on your way ? How long do you propose to continue as a guest in your journey of life ?

Your parent is no more there waiting for you to coax , cajole or entertain you in the inn of this world .

If , however , you desire comfort or peace , you will have it only in Truth or Divinity . You must , therefore , take immediate steps to advance on the path leading towards GOD , the eternal Truth .
